Brooklyn restaurant Miriam, which serves Israeli food came up with the ingenious idea of a “biblical feast” menu. Throughout October, the restaurant is offering a special menu inspired by the the Bible’s “magnificent, sumptuous, and detailed descriptions of feasts.” Owner Rafael Hasid spent months talking to rabbi’s and food scholars coming up with a menu that includes Ezekiel Bread, Jacob’s Stew, and stuffed figs.

Manischewitz Sangria

Our friend Sari Victoria shared this Manischewitz Sangria (aka “Mangria”) recipe with us back at Passover, and with the warm weather and all we thought it was a great time to share it with you.
Ingredients:
1 Bottle Manischewitz
1 Orange thinly sliced
1 Lemon thinly sliced
1 Lime thinly sliced
1 Liter club soda
Sugar to taste
Directions:
In a large pitcher combine the wine and sliced fruit. Refrigerate overnight. Before serving add club soda and sugar. Mix well and serve. L’Chaim!

Hebrew National hotdogs were always are faves, but now it’s official – the kosher beef franks have been judged top dog by Consumer Reports magazine. Seems like answering to a higher authority has its perks!
